      Sorry for the late response, and hopefully someone has been able to get in touch with you through another method, but one of our Board Members – Ellen Michelle – is also with Myth Hawker books and is in the Vendor Hall this weekend. If you see this (or hear through some other means) before you leave for home, you can drop off the items with her.

    How can I find information on booth reservations the convention? Are there any spots left?

  3. VCON Chair Posted on May 29, 2019 at 8:33 AM

    Hi Ting,

    The online application forms for exhibit hall vendors and art space vendors have not yet available, so we still have lots of spaces left! (We’re a bit short staffed, and other tasks have had priority.) Once they are available you’ll find a link to the form for exhibit hall vendors at the “For Vendors” tab of the Vendor Exhibit Hall page and a link to the form for art space vendors at the “For Artists” tab of the Art Space page.

    If you are interested in a free lobby table to promote a geek-friendly club or other organization you can register right now from here the “Lobby Table Application” tab on the Promote Your Group page. {note: The link is currently broken. We’ll get someone to fix it ASAP!}

    Prices have increased since I last showed in both artist areas, is this reflection of investment into event improvement or just because?

    1. VCON Chair Posted on August 20, 2019 at 10:44 AM

      You are correct, the increase in prices is a reflection of investment to the event.

      Unfortunately, the cost to rent function space has increased dramatically throughout the Vancouver Metro region, largely because Vancouver has become an international “Convention Destination”, and our venue budget – which is the lion’s share of our expenses – has more than tripled in the past two years (and that’s even after reducing the number and size of function space we use during the event). Our parent non-profit organization has been doing far more fundraising than in the past but what has been raised still falls short of what we need to completely counteract these increases. As a result, we have had to raise all our rates – attendee memberships, vendor booths and art exhibition space. Still, we’ve done our best to keep the increases as low as possible.
